Firsts.....

Well, we have had some exciting firsts in the last couple of weeks. We had our first birthday (which there are several pictures), our first cut on the head (more pictures) OUR FIRST WORD and are first feel of grass on our bare toes. We had so much fun at Spencer's birthday and then we got to play with Anna Lauren and James for a couple of days while Matt and Mandi and Kate all went to the Masters (more pictures of the cousins)

The last couple of weeks, Spencer has been saying/shouting "A-DE" and Michael and I could not figure out what he was saying. We noticed it when Hailey (the 1 year old golden)was around. We finally figured out that he was saying "Hailey!" So, Spencer's first word is NOT mama or dada but Hailey. He also points at her and says "top!" for stop...Gee-I guess Michael and I need to stop yelling at Hailey to behave!

Another funny story: Michael was working in the yard-digging something, blowing something, cutting something (who knows what) so Spencer and I decided to go see what was going on. I put Spencer down in the grass barefoot and you would have thought I put him down on needles...he was NOT having it. He curled up his arms and tried to keep his feet off the grass. Well-the only way to overcome that is exposure-so that's what we did. We rubbed our feet and hands in the grass, put it between our toes and pulled up handfuls (Michael was pleased with the holes it left!) and evidently Spencer's little mind processed the new textured and he decided it would be OK to eat the whole yard!! So after digging out the 50th blade of grass-I gave up and went back inside. I can't wait to see what he does with sand!!!! So here are some fun pictures from the birthday, cousins, scratches. The "Lock up your Daughters" t-shirt came from Big Daddy. Big Daddy said he saw that shirt and it made him laugh! It makes us laugh, too! Thanks Big Daddy!!
